Alphabet Letters, 2012 -
I began this project when my son was just beginning to talk. As I think all babies do, he just loved naming new animals and objects as he discovered and could say the words for them. So I came up with the idea of filling each alphabet letter with things beginning with that letter. My son is now six, and still loves naming all the objects I draw in each letter as I produce them. Prints of these illustrations are available in my shop. I will be doing all 26 letters so keep checking back or follow my blog, Instagram or Facebook for latest updates, or feel free to contact me if you have a request for a specific letter not yet available in the shop.
Wedding Stationery, 2017
These are the illustrations I am doing for wedding. So far for Save the Dates and the wedding invitations themselves. I'll be doing a further variation on this theme for the table numbers and place cards.
Harry Potter Mural, Woodend School Library, 2010
I absolutely loved painting this mural. I completed it over 2 weeks during the school holidays when I worked at Woodend School.
Experimenting with acrylic washes, 2008
I painted this after doing some night classes at UC, where I was learning to use acrylics more like watercolours, laying washes down and gradually building up colour. I found it really challenging, and didn't really use the technique much. But I've always kind of liked this piece.
Race Relations Mural, St Patrick's Primary School, 2007
I wish I had picture of this completed! The white was just the base coat and each of the sections of the NZ Race Relations logo were bright colours in the end. Green, orange, hot pink, yellow, purple, and blue. I was really pleased with the end result. I painted this with my good friend Ahby over a couple of very hot weeks in January 2007.
